SoHo art gallery is a new international art space in Osaka run by a Canadian and a Japanese artist dedicated to the promotion of emerging artists in Japan. It’s a hybrid commercial gallery and experimental art space that focuses on presenting fresh art and new creative ideas in a variety of media.

SoHo organizes a number of exhibitions and special projects every year to foster artistic and cultural exchange and diverse approaches to make, present and talk about art; develop professional networks and set creative ideas and initiatives in motion through careful planning. SoHo’s aim is to provide opportunities for artists to explore and expand their horizons, exhibit their works and further their professional development.


Gallery usage fees:

YEARLY ON-SITE GROUP EXHIBITIONS ORGANIZED by SoHo Art Gallery:

St. Valentine’s Art Fair: Exhibition in February, open call entry deadline by end of Jaunuary. Size restrictions, all media. Up to 50 participants.

FOTOGRAFIKA spring edition: Exhibition in April, open call entry deadline by end of March. Assigned theme, size and format restrictions, photo prints only. Up to 30 participants.

ART SALAD: Exhibition in May, open call entry deadline by end of April. Open theme, size restrictions, all media, up to 100 participants.

FOTOGRAFIKA autumn edition: Exhibition in September, open call entry deadline by end of August. Assigned theme, size and format restrictions, photo prints only. Up to 30 participants.

ARTCUBE: Exhibition in Fall/Autumn, open call entry deadline by end of the month prior to the exhibition. Artwork MUST fit inside transparent cube 10cm x 10cm x 10cm. Up to 50 participants.

Christmas Present Exhibition: Exhibition in December, open call entry deadline by end of November. Open theme, size restrictions, all media. Up to 50 participants.

OFF SITE GROUP EXHIBITIONS ORGANIZED by SoHo Art Gallery:

TRANSNATIONAL ART, Annual large format group exhibition at The Enokojima Art, Culture and Creative Center, Osaka.: Late January. Submission deadline by end of November. Painting, Sculpture, Installation, Video, Performance Art, Mixed media, Graphic Arts, New Genres. Size and number of works restrictions. Up to 100 featured artists. Indoor exhibition with some outdoor installations may be possible.

ARS JAPONICA, International group exhibition of contemporary art by Japanese artists at AVA Galleria in Helsinki, Finland.

SALON ART FAIR, Carrousel du Louvre, Louvre Museum, Paris, France: Late October, Submission deadline by end of July. Size and number of works restrictions. Concurrent with the FIAC and CUTLOG Art Fairs.

WORKSHOPS & LECTURES

Art Study Program: Throughout the year, presented by curators, art producers, artists and industry experts. Career-focused workshops: Artist portfolios, C.V.s, statements and other practical advice as well as Art History, Art Business Strategies, information on national and international competitions, art residencies and how to apply for them. Seating for up to 20 people.
